Today, Saturday, September 5, 2026, the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Front, and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Brother Brahim Ghali, accompanied by member of the National Secretariat and Chief of Staff of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, Brother Hamma Salama, chaired a meeting of the Army’s General Staff at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Brother Taleb Ammi Deh, and Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defense, Brother Mohamed Lamine Mohamed Ahmed, along with members of the General Staff of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army.
The meeting opened with the recitation of Al-Fatiha in tribute to the souls of the righteous martyrs. The Chief of Staff of the Army then addressed the gathering, welcoming the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Front, and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and emphasizing the importance of the meeting, which forms part of disseminating the outcomes of the Tenth Ordinary Session of the National Secretariat.
The Chief of Staff explained that the Tenth Ordinary Session of the National Secretariat discussed various national, regional, and international issues with a high degree of frankness and clarity, addressing developments both internally and externally. He stressed that the session was characterized by responsible debate and constructive proposals, enabling the various issues on the agenda to be addressed and providing visions and prospects for future action.
He emphasized that the current stage, with its particular and exceptional circumstances, requires concerted efforts, strengthened unity, and the mobilization of national energies in order to respond to the various developments and challenges that may arise from the current situation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Front, and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Brother Brahim Ghali, addressed the gathering. He stressed the importance of the meeting in view of the sensitivity of the current circumstances and the need to mobilize greater efforts and resources, as well as to demonstrate the strength that the Sahrawi people have consistently embodied through their national unity, which has always served as an impenetrable barrier against the various conspiracies and schemes directed against the just national cause.
The President stressed that the current circumstances require everyone to demonstrate the highest levels of responsibility and discipline, strengthen vigilance and preparedness to confront challenges, and remain mindful of the various risks facing the national cause, as well as the plans and manoeuvres pursued by the enemy and its allies aimed at bypassing the legitimate right of the Sahrawi people to freedom, national independence, and self-determination.
Brother Brahim Ghali affirmed that the will and determination of the Sahrawi people have always been, and will remain, stronger than all manoeuvres and schemes. He noted that the Sahrawi people have consistently demonstrated their readiness to make further sacrifices in defence of their national rights and to thwart the plans pursued by the Moroccan occupation regime and its allies.
The President also addressed the latest developments concerning the national cause in its various dimensions, particularly at the international level, noting that the Sahrawi issue has recently witnessed a number of meetings and consultations aimed at seeking a solution within the framework of international legitimacy.
In this context, he reiterated that the Polisario Front has always expressed its position clearly and consistently, rejecting any solution that does not guarantee the Sahrawi people’s full and inalienable right to self-determination, freedom, and national independence.
The meeting comes within the framework of continued coordination and assessment, as well as efforts to strengthen the readiness of the institutions of the Sahrawi state, in line with the requirements of the current stage and developments in the national cause at various levels.
