Portuguese authorities have foiled an attempt by Moroccan smugglers to bring approximately 400 kilograms of cocaine ashore on the coast of Setúbal, southwest of the country.
The operation was carried out by the Coastal Surveillance Unit after suspicious activity was detected in the Arrábida Natural Park, between Albarquel Beach and Comenda Park.
The intervention resulted in the arrest of one Moroccan national, while seven others fled the scene. Authorities also seized packages containing approximately 400 kilograms of cocaine. The operation involved land and air resources, with support from the Maritime Police.
